Day Camp Youth Workers

Conayt Friendship Society is looking for a qualified and motivated individual for the position of Summer Camp Counsellor. This position is a fixed term (8 weeks) Full-time position, Working Monday-Friday. This position will employ fun, energetic, outgoing students to not only support our program, but will also be positive, enthusiastic and engaging role model in the lives of the children we support. The Day Camp Counsellor will report to the Day Camp Coordinator.

Vacancy: Two Positions Open  

 

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Monitoring campers to ensure their safety

·         Organizing and leading activities for campers

·         Managing the operation of recreational facilities

·         Coordinating and scheduling recreational and other types of activities with the Summer Camp Coordinator

·         Provides high-quality educational and recreational opportunities and enjoyable experiences for camp participants

·         Supervises campers and ensures their safety, development, growth, skill achievement, and general well-being

·         Maintains a schedule for camp participants

·         Organizes and leads various small and large group activities

·         Ability to have daily interaction with parents

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

·         Must be a returning full-time student 

·         Previous experience in a related field; but not required

·         A Valid First Aid Certificate

·         Enjoys being in the company of children

·         Work well with others; treat people with dignity & respect; promote confidence

·         Maintain trust and confidentiality

·         Good interpersonal and communication skills

·         Excellent teamwork, conflict-resolution, and leadership skills

·         Good Verbal and written communications skills and organization skills

·         Self-motivated and ability to work independently

·         The successful candidate must pass a Criminal Record Check.
